I've got an error during the update of my Devialet Gemini

As your Devialet Gemini is evolving, updates will be available. To install an update, please 10 to 15 minutes to complete the process.

 

Sometimes, an error might happen during the update of your earbuds and charging case. Here below is a list and what to do if this is happening:

What to do?

Transmission Error 601 (earbuds)

Some Android phones contain Bluetooth modifications that differ from the standards and can sometimes cause the application to fail to complete the update (99% failure). It will be possible to clean the Bluetooth data from the phone to work around this problem.

 

This error means that the Devialet Gemini application does not find one of the earphones (it could be that the case was closed during the update, an earphone was removed from the case, the phone was moved away from the earphones, etc)

Android:

 

If the error appeared during the firmware update of the left earbud when the update progress is at 99%, please follow the below instructions.

Please note that the following steps will erase the Wifi and Bluetooth saved connexions in your device:

  • Go into your Phone Settings
  • On the search bar, type "Reset."
  • Select Reset Options
  • Select Reset Network Settings
  • Confirm the reset
  • Wait until the reset process is done.
  • Wait for a confirmation message from your phone to certify that the reset was done.
  • Slide open your Gemini case but keep the earbuds inside.
  • Select the Bluetooth Settings on your phone
  • Re-pair by making sure that the 2 headsets are paired to your phone: this article for more details (it is expected that only one of the two appear as connected, but the 2 headsets must be paired to the phone).
  • Open your Devialet Gemini App
  • Make sure that the charging case appears on the main screen, if it does not, take one earbud out and put it back in the case.
  • Restart the update (visit this article for more details).
  • Be sure to accept all pairing requests made during the upgrade.

iOS:

  • Kill the Devialet Gemini app.
  • Reopen the Devialet Gemini app.
  • Make sure that the charging case appears on the main screen, if it does not, take one earbud out and put it back in the case.
  • Restart the update (visit this article for more details).
  • Be sure to accept all pairing requests made during the upgrade.
200, 502

This error occurs between 0 and 5% of the update.

 

It occurs when the phone is not paired to both headsets.

  • Put your earbuds in the case and leave it open 
  • Kill the Devialet Gemini app completely.
  • In the Bluetooth settings of your phone forget your Gemini earphones.
  • Re-pair by making sure that the 2 headsets are paired to your phone: this article for more details (it is normal that only one of the two appear as connected, but the 2 headsets must be paired to the phone).
  • Open your Devialet Gemini App
  • Restart the update (visit this article for more details).
  • Be sure to accept all pairing requests made during the upgrade.
Error when updating the case

At the end of the update, the right earpiece will set the case to "update" mode. It will then become inactive (no more LED reactions) for 3 to 5 minutes.

An error may occur if the right earphone was removed from the case during the update or the case was closed during the update.

In this state the box does not react at all (no LEDs light up) this is perfectly normal, please follow the instructions below:

  • Put your case to charge.
  • Remove, and put back your earbuds in the case.
  • Wait for 10 to 15 minutes.

The update will then restart on its own without any further handling on your part. If your box still does not react then, please :

  • Remove and put back in the case the right earbud only.
  • Wait for 5 minutes.
When pressing the "update" button nothing happens The requirements for starting the headphone update are not met.
  • Check that you have at least 50% of the battery left in the earbuds and in the case, to do this simply remove and put the 2 earphones back in the case.
  • Make sure that the charging box appears on the app's main screen. If it is not the case, take out and put back your earphones in the case.
  • Restart the update (visit this article for more details).
Other error codes (512, 520, 521...) The application encountered a problem when trying to update.
  • Kill the Devialet Gemini app
  • Keep the case open
  • Open the app, then click on the Settings icon (the wheel on the top left corner), and select "Updates."
The app could not check for an update Our updates require internet access on the device used. Your phone or tablet is not connected to the Internet or our update servers are inaccessible at this time.
  • Make sure you are properly connected to the internet during the operation.

  • Please try the update again later.
