If you find your Phantom became silent and the Devialet app shows “no cable plugged” when watching certain contents on your TV via optical cable after DOS 2.10., it is probably because the signal was initially transmitted in Dolby AC-3, which format is no longer supported by Phantom.
Dolby AC-3 is used for creating a surrounding sound field. However, it only allows you to use 10% of the Phantom processor’s capacity.
The Phantom is designed for music but is also suitable for watching movies/videos. However, the Dolby 5.1 format does not add to your listening experience because your Phantom installation is not a 5.1 installation similar to a Home Cinema.
Moreover, if Dolby 5.1 is played on Phantom, the sound is not played in Stereo.
If you have this issue, please change the digital output audio format to PCM on your TV. (You may contact TV’s manufacturer’s website for more details).
By doing so, you can enjoy the incredible sound with full potential of the Phantom.
