8. Questions & Answers

  • In Spark, I have a screen asking "Do you have a Dialog?" but the system never finds it (Dialog).
    1. The screen showing "Do you have a Dialog?" only appears if the Dialog is not connected to the Internet.
    2. First, follow these steps:
      • Unplug and replug the electricity on Dialog and do the same with its ethernet cable
      • Try a different ethernet cable
      • Unplug and replug the electricity on your router
      • Try on your router another ethernet input to connect the Dialog.
    3. If none of the previous work, your router seems to block the Dialog's connection. This can happen depending on the router provided to you (due to the router's architecture or security settings). You can then consider the following workarounds:
      1. Contact your internet provider and ask them to open the port that the Dialog uses, port 24242 (in TCP and UDP, meaning Dialog receives and sends information via your wifi network)
      2. To have an optimal connection setup, it is recommended to complete a basic internet set up with some network devices such as Apple airport express. These devices can extend or create a network. Creating a network will bypass the limitation of your router.

  • In Spark, the system does not find one or more Phantom
    1. Temporarily plug Dialog and all Phantom on the same power strip/power extension, or on the wall plugs of one same wall. NB: the dialog must always be wired to the router. So it will be the Phantom that must be moved temporarily.
    2. Do a reset of the system.
    3. Follow the previous video that corresponds to your number of Phantom.

  • In Spark, I don't understand the screen with the message "Living Room" during the setup
    1. Phantom and Spark are a multi-room system, which means you can play music in different areas called Living room, Garden, Bathroom, etc. This allows you to play the same or different music in your rooms.
    2. From this screen, you can configure your rooms and setup:
      1. The ribbon on top is used to swipe between rooms, and below you will find your Phantom
      2. If you have only one Phantom, select the right room and position your Phantom as "Mix."
      3. If you have 2 Phantom in the same room, then position one in "Left" and one in "Right" (everytime you put your finger into a Phantom icon, the selected Phantom will make a sound and move to identify which Phantom you are currently setting up.
      4. If you have more Phantoms in the same room, you can drag and drop one in "Left", one in "Right" and one in "
        Mix."
    3. To make the setup you just have to drag and drop the Phantom Icons into the place where you want to set it up

  • In Spark, the application comes back to the first page during the setup
    1. First, try the following steps:
      • Unplug and replug the electricity on Dialog and do the same with its ethernet cable
      • Try a different ethernet cable
      • Unplug and replug the electricity on your router
      • Try on your router another ethernet input to connect the Dialog.
    2. If none of the previous work, your router seems to push out the Dialog's connection at a specific moment. This can be frequent depending on the router provided to you (due to the router's architecture or security settings).
    3. This issue is not usual, but if you are impacted, it is recommended to create a private network.

  • After a previous set up, Spark does not find my system (Spark asks "Start")
    1. Try to wire another ethernet cable between Dialog and the router. Quit Spark and retry.
    2. If Spark asks you to do the set up again, your router pushed out the Dialog's connection at a specific moment. This can be frequent depending on the router provided to you (due to the router's architecture or security settings). Often, this happens when your internet provider updates your router remotely.
    3. If you have this issue, it is recommended to create a private network.

  • I can't connect to Dialog Setup XXXX
    1. In the list of the wifi networks available at your place, you will see 2 networks named Dialog (one in 2.4ghz, and one in 5ghz). These networks are only used by our systems (information sharing between Dialog and Phantom). Consequently, you can't connect on it, and you must keep using your regular wifi network (even for the first set up of Phantom).
