Bi-amplification with Expert.

1. WHAT IS BI-AMPLIFICATION?

Bi-amplification is a combination of 2 amplifiers, enabling one amplifier to be coupled with a pair of speakers. The speakers can then focus on specific frequencies (bass, midrange or treble: this is known as horizontal bi-amplification) or on specific channels (Left or Right: this is known as vertical bi-amplification).

This bi-amplification is possible and achievable on the following Expert or Expert Pro models:

Expert: LE 400, LE 800, LE 90 (Original d'Atelier), 2xD-premier

Expert Pro: 440 Pro,1000 Pro

2. HOW DO I SET IT UP WITH EXPERT OR EXPERT PRO?

To set up bi-amplification, you will need to configure your installation  in a specific way. Please follow the instructions below:

  • Connect to your Devialet.com web profile HERE.
  • Then go to your profile and select "Expert Configuration".
  • Then click on "Configure a new settings file" to access the online configurator.
  • Select "Go to advanced configurator".
  • Select the Expert model you wish to configure (this must be an LE 400, 440 Pro, LE 800, 1000 Pro or ODA model).
  • Move the cursor to "STEREO", above each Expert.
  • Then go to the settings for the first amp.
  • A pop-up window will appear. Uncheck the "Linked" option and configure your bi-amplification. Here are the two most common options (vertical or horizontal bi-amplification):

If you want the speakers connected to the top amp (Master) to play only the left or right sounds from your amp, select the corresponding option (Left or Right) for each of the connected speakers.

To ensure that the speakers connected to the top amp (Master) only play specific frequencies, select the corresponding option (High Pass or Low Pass) in the "Filtering" parameters for each of the connected speakers.

Perform the same operation on the second amplifier.
