How can I connect my TV to my Devialet Product?
Through this article, you will learn how to link your Devialet device (Dione, Phantom I & II, Expert & Expert Pro) with your TV. You will also learn about the types of cables required by product, and the most frequently asked questions about these installations. For a smoother experience, you can find the guide version here.
With Phantom I
Phantom I can be physically connected to a TV as a source via Toslink (Optical Cable) . The input can be found at the back of the Phantom I when you remove the power cable.
If you are using a Dialog in your setup, this accessory also has an optical input. In a stereo or a multiroom setup, only one Phantom I needs to be connected in optical.
Notes about the optical mode :
- In general, optical cables are very sensitive : avoid twisting the cable as much as possible.
- The longer the cable, the weaker the signal can get.
- Most TVs have an optical output
Setup with Spark
If you wired one of your devices to the Phantom system via the optical cable, the next step is then to activate Spark. To do this, please follow the steps below:
- Open Spark

Go into
- the mobile version of Spark and select "Options"
- the Desktop version of Spark and select "Settings" on the left down side of the apps

- Switch on the toggle button beside "Optical - Phantom" or "Optical Dialog" depending on which product is connected to your TV..
- Activate the option "Autoswitch'' if you want this device to automatically play once receiving a signal.
Setup with the Devialet App

Note : to disable the Auto Switch, follow the instructions below.
- Open Devialet app
- Select the room containing the Phantom wired to the TV
- Click on the settings icon on the upper right

If you have a mono setup : the Autoswitch option can be toggled off directly from this settings screen.
If you have a stereo setup : first select the Phantom wired to the TV in the “Speaker” section (Left or Right). The Autoswitch option can be toggled off from the next screen.
After this setting is disabled, you will need to manually select your optical source as the source for the room. This can be found on the room’s page (below the volume wheel).
NB: Phantom does not support Dolby. Make sure your TV audio signal is displayed as “PCM” or any other Stereo limited format in the settings.
If you want to switch between different sources, you can do so through the app. Go into your room, and, below the sound wheel, select the source you want to use.
With Phantom II
Phantom II can be physically connected to a TV as a source via a Toslink to mini Toslink optical cable. This input can be found at the back of the Phantom II. In a stereo or multi-room setup, only one Phantom II needs to be connected to send the signal into the room you have set up.

With Expert or Expert Pro
If you are looking to connect your TV to your Expert or Expert Pro - please use the Optical 1 input that you can find at the back of your amplifier.
If you own a D-Premier, it may be best to connect your TV-Box to the HDMI input on the amplifier.
With Devialet Dione
Devialet Dione is a soundbar which is designed to be used with a TV, although not exclusively. It can also be used as a dedicated device to stream music.
You can wire your TV to Dione two separate ways :
- with an optical cable (SPDIF)
- with an HDMI cable
We strongly recommend using HDMI with your TV. With an HDMI cable you will be able to play multichannel content such as 5.1 or, Dolby Atmos, etc. in order to have the best audio experience with your Devialet Dione. This will require having an HDMI ARC or eARC output on your TV, otherwise, the Devialet Dione will be unable to read the audio content.
Once the cable is plugged in, Dione will automatically play the sound of the TV when turned on. Depending on the cable and the content you choose, different modes will be available. For more information on that, please click here.
