How to start with Devialet Astra?

Devialet Astra is our latest amplifier, incorporating multiple proprietary technologies that we have patented, including SAM®, RAM®, and more. We have also further developed our ADH®technology, now called ADH® Next Gen.

Here are the steps to take to install your Devialet Astra out of the box.

  1. Unpacking and wiring
  2. Starting Devialet Astra
  3. Setting up Devialet Astra
  4. Updating the device
  5. Connecting the Remote

 

Unpacking and wiring

Step 1

Please unpack the amplifier, the remote and the cables.

Step 2

Then wire the physical sources to the back of the amplifier(s). If you ordered a dual mono Devialet Astra, link both units via the 2 RCA cable provided in the packaging.

Starting Devialet Astra

Step 3

Plug the power cable included in the Devialet packaging

Step 4

This is the first screen displayed by the amplifier when it is plugged in

Step 5

The second screen displayed by the amplifier

The third screen displayed by the amplifier when plugged in

Step 7

 

The fourth screen displayed by the amplifier. The QR codes redirects to the application store if the Devialet app is not on the phone. It will directly open Devialet App if it is already installed.

The Devialet app does not exist for Mac or PC.

Setting up Devialet Astra

Step 8

Please install / open the Devialet App and set up the amplifier 

Step 9

 

It is mandatory to log in to your account on the app. Please use the same email address as the one on your Devialet.com account.

After log in, the app displays the home screen. Press "set up a product" to set up Devialet Astra

Step 11

The following must be activated on the phone to go to the next page on Devialet App: 

  • Wifi 

  • Location

  • Location access

  • Bluetooth 

  • Bluetooth access

When all these settings are activated, Devialet app directly goes to the next page of the set up

Step 12

The app then detects Devialet Astra pending a setup. Press "configure now"

Step 13

This is where you can name the amplifier. By default the name is f.e. "Devialet Astra Light Bronze"

Press "next"

Step 14

The amplifier detects the home wifi. Select which home wifi you want to connect to. 

If an working ethernet cable is wired, the app will not display this wifi screen and will not ask a password. 

Enter the wifi password and press "next"

Step 15

This page means the amplifier is trying to connect to the wifi and get an IP address. It should take less than 1 min.

Step 16

After the device is connected to internet, it will ask to accept the Google cast activation.

You can approve or skip. 

If skipped, you can still activate Google Cast later from the Devialet app

Step 17

The amplifier is now setup 

Press "done"

Step 18

After the set up, the app displays the Devialet Astra home screen (volume and sources)

Updating the device

Step 15a

At unboxing (after step 15) there will be a pop up "An update is available". This is a mandatory firmware update. 

Step 15b

The amplifier will load a firmware update

Step 15c

The amplifier has fully loaded and installed the firmware update file.

The device starts with its default setting

Connecting the Remote

Step 20

Turn on the remote via the button on its back cover 

The logo on the left means REMOTE OFF

The logo on the right means REMOTE ON

Step 21

The remote will check for an amplifier to pair to.

If the remote does not find any device to pair, it will display this twice by blinking 2 circles

Step 23

Put the amplifier in BT pairing mode via the app or the button of the amplifier (important, the amp must display this exact screen for the pairing to work). 

Step 24

Press the previous and next button on the remote until the screen displays 2 circles logo. 

Step 25

It will display this image and pair to the amplifier. This should take less than 1 min. The remote is now paired to the amplifier.

The system is fully set-up. Enjoy your music.
