Airplay® and Devialet products

Through this article you will learn how to figure out if your device is AirPlay compatible, how to connect to your Devialet device via the Airplay Protocol, and how to  troubleshoot the main issues with Airplay and Devialet products (Devialet Mania, Phantom I, Phantom II, Devialet Dione, Expert and Expert Pro).

What is AirPlay ?

AirPlay® is a connectivity protocol made available by Apple. It is leveraging your Wi-Fi connection. This protocol allows you to stream audio and video content, and many applications and software natively embed this protocol. 

It offers you a very simple way to stream music to your Devialet system from your favorite Apple devices or compatible applications (Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer, etc…). 

 

I'd like to know if my product is Airplay® compatible

The vast majority of Devialet products are natively Airplay® compatible.

  • Phantom Gold | Phantom Opéra de Paris | Phantom I 108 dB  are natively Airplay® ready.
  • Phantom Reactor 600 | 900 | Opéra de Paris | Phantom II 95 dB | Phantom II 98 dB are natively Airplay® compatible
  • Phantom Classic | Phantom Silver | Phantom I 103 dB

Please check your product’s serial number, and whether it ends in the following:

    • Phantom Classic P308 | P314 | P316 | P317 : These models are natively Airplay ready
    • Phantom Silver EW08 | EW09  | EW14 | EW16 | EW17 : You need only one product which is natively Airplay to enable Airplay's protocol within your system for Phantom.
    • Dialog ending with X03 or X04 : You need only one product which is natively Airplay to enable Airplay's protocol within your system for Phantom.
    • Other Serial Number : Your product is not compatible
  • Expert | Expert Pro
    • Expert products are not natively Airplay
    • Expert Pro products are natively Airplay (V.1) if they have the Core Infinity
  • Devialet Dione is natively Airplay® compatible
  • Devialet Mania is natively Airplay® compatible

 

I would like to know how I can stream via Airplay®

Airplay ® can only be used with an Apple device. 

 

  • With an IPAD or an IPHONE

From your IPad or IPhone, you can stream any sound to your Phantom I, Phantom II, Devialet Dione and Expert Pro

  • With an iMac or MacBook

Q&A

  • When I try to stream via AirPlay, it asks me for a password

This password is the one you chose during the product setup.

Your Apple device may ask you for a password when installing or pairing Airplay with your Devialet product (Pic 1).  This is a security feature provided by Apple.

During the installation, you can choose to define a password that you'll need to enter each time you connect a new device to the speaker (Pic 2). You can also choose not to enter a password.

Note: We recommend that you do not protect the Airplay connection via this feature. In any case, only people connected to your WiFi network will be able to play Airplay on your Devialet product.

If you set a password by mistake, or have forgotten your password, you can simply perform a product reset (link), reinstall the product and choose a new password (or choose not to protect the connection with a password).
