Streaming Music on my Devialet Product

Through this article you will learn how to use different streaming services (Tidal, Spotify, Deezer, Qobuz) with your Devialet product with either an iPhone, iPad, a Mac, an Android Phone or a Windows Computer.

 

TIDAL 

WITH AN IPHONE, AN IPAD OR A MAC 

If you are using an Apple device, you can stream your Tidal music to your Phantom system via AirPlay, Bluetooth, UPnP or Roon RAAT. 

 

  • For AirPlay:

Click on the AirPlay icon, then select the name of the room where your Phantom(s) is located (e.g. living room).

Launch the Tidal application on your iPhone, the sound will now come out on the Phantom. The audio quality will be in 16 bit / 44.1 kHz (CD quality).

If the file sent via AirPlay is in a different quality, it will be downsampled or upsampled to 16 bit / 44.1kHz. If your Tidal subscription allows for audio files with a higher sampling rate than CD, we recommend that you use UPnP to stream your music. 

Please note that your Phantom must be AirPlay compatible. 

 

  • For UPnP:

You need to use a Streaming App (MConnect for iPhone/iPad or Audirvana for Mac)

These apps can be easily linked to your Tidal account and will recognize Phantom as an audio output. 

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Tidal.

  • For Roon RAAT : 

Roon is software only available for computers, although there is a remote app for iOS.

Download Roon on your MacBook and you'll be able to connect your Tidal account.

The Phantom should appear as an audio device on Roon, select it to make it your audio output

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Tidal.

 

 

WITH AN ANDROID PHONE/TABLET

If you have an Android phone, you can stream TIDAL to your Phantom system through Bluetooth or UPnP. 

  • Using UPnP:

If you're looking for a Wi-Fi protocol to use instead of Bluetooth, we recommend that you use the BubbleUPnP app or MconnectHD. Those apps can be linked to your Tidal account and will allow you to set the Phantoms as the audio output.

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Tidal.

WITH A WINDOWS COMPUTER

With a Windows computer, you can send the sound of Tidal to your Phantom system via Bluetooth, UPnP or Roon RAAT. 

 

  • Using UPnP:

If you are looking for a Wi-Fi protocol rather than using Bluetooth, we recommend that you use Audirvana. This software can be linked to your Tidal account and will recognize Phantom as an audio output.

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Tidal.

 

  • For Roon RAAT : 

Download Roon on your Windows computer, and you'll be able to connect your Tidal account.

The Phantom should appear as an audio device on Roon, select it to make it your audio output.

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Tidal.



 

SPOTIFY

WITH AN IPHONE OR AN IPAD

If you have an iOS device, you can send your Spotify music to your Phantom system via AirPlay, Bluetooth, or, Spotify Connect 

 

  • Using AirPlay:

Open the audio settings of your iPhone and select the room of your Phantom (for example, living room) as audio output.

Launch the Spotify application on your iPhone and play a music. The sound will come out on the Phantom. 

The audio quality can be up to 320 kbps depending on your subscription and settings on Spotify.

 

  • Using Spotify Connect:
  1. Open the Spotify app 
  2. Start playing music
  3. Click on "Available Devices." 
  4. Select the name of the room with your Phantom system

Your Spotify music will now come out on your Phantom. 

The audio quality can be up to 320 kbps depending on your subscription and settings on Spotify.

 

WITH A MAC 

With a Mac computer, you can send Spotify music to your Phantom system via AirPlay, Bluetooth, or Spotify Connect. 

 

  • Using AirPlay:

Open the audio settings of your Mac and select the room of your Phantom (for example, living room) as audio output.

Launch the Spotify application on your Mac or in a web browser, the sound will come out on the Phantom. 

The audio quality can be up to 320 kbps depending on your subscription and settings on Spotify.

 

  • Using Spotify Connect (only  for Spotify Premium subscribers):
  1. Open the Spotify software
  2. Start playing music
  3. Click on "Available Devices"
  4. Select the name of the room with your Phantom system

Your Spotify music will now come from your Phantom.  

The audio quality can be up to 320 kbps depending on your subscription and settings on Spotify.

 

WITH AN ANDROID PHONE

You can use your Android phone to send your Spotify music to your Phantom system via Bluetooth or Spotify Connect. 

 

  • Using Spotify Connect :
  1. Open the Spotify app 
  2. Start playing music
  3. Click on "Available Devices"
  4. Select the name of the room with your Phantom system

Your Spotify music will come from your Phantom. 

The audio quality can be up to 320 kbps depending on your subscription and settings on Spotify.

 

WITH A WINDOWS COMPUTER

With a Windows computer, you can send your Spotify music to your Phantom system via Bluetooth or Spotify Connect. 

 

  • Using Spotify Connect :
  1. Open the Spotify software
  2. Start playing music
  3. Click on "Available Devices"
  4. Select the name of the room with your Phantom system

Your Spotify music will come from your Phantom.  

The audio quality can be up to 320 kbps depending on your subscription and settings on Spotify.




DEEZER

WITH AN IPHONE OR AN IPAD

With an iOS device, you can play music from Deezer to your Phantom system in AirPlay or Bluetooth. 

 

  • Using AirPlay:

 

Click on the AirPlay icon , , then select the name of the room where your Phantom(s) is located (e.g. living room).

Run the Deezer app on your iPhone. The sound will now come from the Phantom. The audio quality will be in 16 bit / 44.1 kHz (CD quality).  The 16 bit / 44.1 kHz format is also the one used for a Deezer Hifi subscription. 

 

WITH A MAC 

With a Mac, you can play music from Deezer to your Phantom system in AirPlay or Bluetooth. 

 

  • Using AirPlay:

 

Open the audio settings of your Mac and select the room of your Phantom (for example, “Living room”) as audio output.

Run the Deezer app on your Mac or in the web browser. The sound will now come out on the Phantom. This sound will be in 16 bit / 44.1 kHz CD quality. The 16 bit / 44.1 kHz format is also the one used for a Deezer Hifi subscription. 



WITH AN ANDROID PHONE

With an Android phone, you can play music from Deezer to your Phantom system via Bluetooth. 

 

WITH A WINDOWS COMPUTER

With a Windows computer, you can play music from Deezer to your Phantom system via Bluetooth or UPnP. 

 

  • Using UPnP:

 

If you are looking for a Wi-Fi protocol rather than Bluetooth, it is recommended that you use the STREAM WHAT YOU HEAR application on your computer. This application will be able to output all sounds from your PC to the Phantom (which will be recognized as an audio output). So if you open and play the Deezer app on your PC, it will play through Phantom.

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Deezer.

QOBUZ

 

WITH AN IPHONE OR AN IPAD

If you have an iOS device, you can stream Qobuz to your Phantom system through AirPlay, Bluetooth, or UPnP. 

 

  • Using AirPlay 

Click on the AirPlay icon , then select the name of the room where your Phantom(s) is located (e.g. living room).

Launch Qobuz on your iPhone. The sound will now come out of the Phantom speakers. 

The audio quality will be in 44.1kHz / 16 bit (CD quality). 

If the file sent via AirPlay is in a different quality, it will be downsampled or upsampled to 16 bit / 44.1kHz. If your Qobuz subscription allows for audio files with a higher sampling rate than that of CD, we recommend that you use UPnP to stream your music. 

 

  • Using UPnP:

If your Qobuz subscription gives you access to files with a higher sampling rate than 16 bit / 44.1kHz, we recommend that you use the MconnectHD UPnP app

This app can be linked to your Qobuz account and allows you to set the Phantoms as the audio output.                 

The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Qobuz.

WITH A MAC 

If you have a Mac computer, you can stream Qobuz to your Phantom system through AirPlay, Bluetooth, or UPnP. 

 

  • Using AirPlay:

Open your Mac's audio settings and choose the room you have configured in the Devialet app (for example, living room) as the audio output.

Launch Qobuz on your Mac or in any navigator. The sound will now come out of the Phantom speakers. 

The audio quality will be in 16 bit / 44.1 kHz (CD quality). 

 

If the file sent via AirPlay is in a different format, it will be downsampled or upsampled to 16 bit / 44.1kHz. If your Qobuz subscription allows for audio files with a higher sampling rate than that of CD, we recommend that you use UPnP to stream your music.

 

  • Using UPnP:

If your Qobuz offer allows for audio files with a higher sampling frequency than that of CD, we recommend that you use Audirvana (or any other UPnP app).

This app can be linked to your Qobuz account and allows you to set the Phantoms as the audio output. The audio quality will be uncompressed, and only depends on the quality of the file provided by Qobuz.
