I am afraid the external antenna will block the RCA plug.

However, I will choose RJ45 ethernet and disable the wifi, so I will not install this optional antenna anyway.

What does this mean? Does this refer to the way Roon is already working over AIR? Is this the way it's going to stay? Is there a follow up plan for Roon?

Devialet - can you please advise is it on the cards for the Expert Pro's to be Roon Ready???

It looks clear that improvements have been made with respect to WiFi performance.  However, I have only ever used my Devilaet by hard wired Ethernet or other inputs.  My primary interest is ultermate performance with respect to sound quality, to be honest I have not seen anything in the announcements so far to indicate if any improvements have been made to improve sound quality.

So with respect to the level of sound quality performance currently available with AIR Ethernet, will the new OS board offer any improvements?

I agree with John. I hope it will be Roon Ready.

Here is my justification why it would be needed: I have used Devialet AIR (Ethernet) and Roon/AIR for a long time but it has never worked perfectly for me. There have been multiple different issues with it, like for example white noise, crackles, stuttering, bsod, and dropouts during the years. I have tried different computers, switches, routers, cables, and even different Devialet Experts but the issues have remained.

Therefore, I wish that the Core Infinity board would be Roon Ready so that I wouldn't need to use AIR ever again.

No Roon Ready for the Core Infinity Board as advised by Devialet Support today (disappointed is an understatement).

We know that Devialet have been working with Roon to provide the recently added 'Roon integrated' AIR.  Because of this I had assumed that Roon RAAT capability for the new 'Core Infinity' board would be a certainty.  So my assumption would be that maybe no RAAT at launch, but this would be a feature that would be added in due course.  That said, it would be nice if we had some clear and sensible communication from Devialet on the subject.  Checking in on 'Devialet Chat' there all kinds of crazy rumours at the moment, in part due to conflicting reports regarding things that have been said to individuals via Devialet support.  I guess nature abhors a vacuum and in the absence of clear published information from Devialet, this is to be expected.  (or even a response on this message board would be nice!)

Whilst mentioning Devialet Chat, there was a poll of Devialet users asking 'What is the one 'must have feature' for the streamer board.  The clear number 1 choice was Roon RAAT.  Neither AirPlay or Spotify made it above 4% of the vote.

In fact, what is it that is coming with the new board? We've heard no ROON, TIDAL & QOBUZ at some later date, no MQA, no Room Correction....other than a board for 'future' upgrades and an antenna what am I sending my 1000 back to France for??

I agree with Dan. The Core Infinity board seems to be totally useless to me - I don't need any of the upcoming new features (Spotify, UPnP, Airplay, Bluetooth, Tidal, or Qobuz).

It should be Roon Ready at a bare minimum.

At a minimum it must have RAAT, why wouldn't they? The absence will certainly affect my decision to upgrade to a 1000Pro and the planned purchase of a couple of Phantoms for my new extension, I'll just have to look to other brands that meet my requirements. While we at it, I think DSP is important as well.

Devialet, you need to keep us informed in an open and honest way!

I have already posted here with my request for the new IC board to be ROON ready - I have not had any response, but that is par for the course with Devialet!

Keeping the most loyal customers informed in an open dialogue is really needed - especially as they provide valuable feedback. And in the end it's exactly those people to whom these products are aimed at - so they know what features have priority and which not. The new board is so powerful, but what is needed are Hifi based use cases that make the life of users more enjoyable. Hope to see an updated remote app, RAAT, room correction and firmware bug fixes happening soon.

Second release date today - nothing happened (not even an intermediate message). You should don´t forget that the board is prepaid for a long time. Further delays and the bad information policy are actually no longer acceptable.

It would be ridiculous if the board would have no useable improvements (ROON RAAT or at least ROON Ready, room correction, Tidal/Quboz/Deezer Hifi integration, multiroom with Phantoms etc).

I bought my Expert Pros a year ago, very curious at the time as to what (and when) the Core Infinity board and new OS would bring.  Here we are a year later and I'm still wondering.   Truthfully, I'd much rather see it released when ready than brought to the market too soon.  But with that said, please share with us the details of what the new board and OS will bring when it's ready - both in the near-term and on your roadmap.

Last but not least, please do not overlook the many requests for Roon RAAT.  While the recent Roon AIR release was a welcome alternate to the Devialet AIR app, I would much rather see Roon RAAT fully implemented given the processing power of this new board.

Beside for all the valid concerns above, I really hope the antenna is removable and can be disabled!... I have everything hardwired and don't want radio waves coming out of my device

I too would like support for Roon RAAT.

In addition, I would really, really like to have support for room correction. I only need the ability to load/ run convolver filters, I can use other tools for generating the filters.

Looks like the ‘Quentin Sannié | Core Infinity Software’ thread may have been locked down. No new posts since 5am this morning, and my post has been sitting ‘Pending Approval’ for nearly 5 hours, might have to put here instead

    Dear Quentin,

Thanking you for providing the update regarding current progress, and noted issues with the Core Infinity Software. Understand it's not easy for a Company to advise of delays, and noted issues, but it is refreshing for yourself / Devialet to be so open with what is happening, and the projected roadmap - Kudos for this.

Appreciate that there’s lots of priorities that Devialet are pursuing regarding current and future features of the OS, and one feature cannot take precedence. A 100% fully functioning board should be first priority, followed by Operating Software, then finally followed by features (proposed features only work, if the board works, and it's operating software is error free).

One item that seems to be apparent (especially highlighted in the comments above) is the request for Roon RAAT to be implemented with the Core Infinity. I myself have Roon lifetime membership, and from a personal perspective would appreciate if Roon RAAT (Ready) functionality were provided with the Core Infinity (be that current or future). Devialet support have indicated that they are currently keeping track of requests for Roon RAAT, only via Devialet official channels (emails, chat, phone call, Facebook, Twitter), and the person I have corresponded with indicated that only 4 requests have been made to themselves. This number seems hard to believe that it’s so low, considering the multiple requests currently noted in the above posts only since yesterdays communicate from yourself.

Would it not be more efficient (and transparent) if a Poll were set-up here in the Core Infinity Log, where customers (be that current or potential) are able to advise of the features that they feel are expected or wished for with the Core Infinity. I understand that Devialet cannot run their business solely on the wishes of their customers, but it would be valuable feedback for Devialet on the expectations for current / future needs.

The Poll can be limited to features currently proposed by Devialet for immediate implementation with the Core Infinity (e.g. UPnP, Spotify, Airplay, etc.), and also future features (e.g. Qobuz, Deezer, Tidal, Roon RAAT, Room Correction, Onboard / On-the-fly Configurator, etc.).

    Poll:

    • UPnP
    • Spotify
    • Airplay
    • Qobuz
    • Deezer
    • Tidal
    • Roon RAAT (yes please)
    • Room Correction
    • Onboard / On-the-fly Configurator
    • Other ........

I hope you would recognise that a Poll would not only be more efficient for Devialet in providing valuable information of customer’s expectation/requests, but would add to the welcome transparency currently being provided by yourself / Devialet within these Core Infinity updates.

Your continued support is most appreciated.

    Cheers
    John

PS Please can you also update the remote app, as I don't believe it has ever been revised since it's inception and is severely lacking in features and functionality (if / when it actually works, which is very intermittent)

PPS - what feature does the 3 dots represent as indicated after the Web Radio symbol???
