IMHO RoonReady certification is a must on this streamer board.

I Do agree with Philipperkins ... unless the Airplay function allows to play Qobuz with optimal quality

Does this update offer any benefits for conventional use? I am using streaming less and less for music listening nowadays.

Airplay or Airplay 2 that is the question.

Beside that, Qobuz and Roon should be a must have feature.

    Thank you so much!

Added to Roon and Qobuz support, it will be, for me the Graal, if the new Audio DSP could provide room correction !

    I ask nothing more...

    Thank you !

Does the new ethernet port/switch allow to use Ravenna or Dante protocol to allow high speed data transfer over longer distance with data correction (unlike USB)?

There is no mention of Devialet AIR in this announcement. The upgrade will remove the old DUET board. Does this remove AIR functionality? In other words, does the new Devialet OS board support AIR?

Agreed with the need to get roon certification quickly. Besides, I am also wondering about AIR once the board is replaced.

Currently I am using Roon with Air with perfect stability, I wouldn't want this to regress.

Yes, Roon compatibility is essential. Roon finally worked once it got around Air., I don't want to go through all those failures again. If Roon is a solid connection, the. tidal can be securely accessed through Roon.

So where is Roon RAAT support?

I don't want to use Roon with AIR because I got crackles with it and Devialet support has replied that they are not going fix that problem.

Same question for me, what about Devialet Air ?

It is indeed critical and essential to include Qobuz, specially with the outstanding quality provided by the Qobuz HiFi Sublime+ services.

Full Roon integration, ie RAAT, making Epert a full Roon end point should be a given! At the very least the Expert should support the existing Roon/AIR “work around”.

    Hello,

Thank you for your support and feedbacks. Everyone here at Devialet is very excited with this Expert Pro revolution and we want to share this journey with you.

Qobuz and Tidal will not be part of this initial software release but they are in our roadmap for the coming months, along with web radios, Bluetooth and more.

Your Expert Pro will feature AirPlay 2 in the future. Devialet has been highlighted by Apple at the WWDC as a partner for AirPlay 2 integration, but specifications are not final yet. We will, of course, need to implement and test Apple’s new protocol before making it available to your Expert Pro.

Our bit-perfect proprietary protocol AIR will be available in the Nov. 7th release.
And for those of you who use and love the “Roon + Expert Pro” integration, as I do, it will keep on working, only better.

We have more up our sleeves, stay tuned!

    Olivier,

Thank you for this helpful response - though it is not before time that Devialet started “proper” communication with its customers! Communication to date has, to be quite honest, been abysmal! It is great to hear that the Roon/AIR integration will still be working, but a disappointment that full RAAT will not be included - it is my personal view that Devialet are missing a very important facility here!

Is it too much to hope that Devialet are entering into an era of sensible communication, rather than the normal marketing “fluff” we are normally subjected to. Anyway your input here is much appreciated.

Hello, Olivier. There must be much more to come out as 'Everyone here at Devialet is very excited with this Expert Pro revolution '.

As 440 user, do I need to send back master only + remote or both master and companion + remote. back to France for this upgrade?

As an audiophile, please understand that the sound quality always comes first. Hope the pro's SQ could be improved further.

    CHeers,

    Gibson

Olivier - Thanks for providing some feedback.  You mention Qobuz and Tidal are 'on the road map', which is good news.  However, I am not clear regarding your comment about Roon.  Obviously Roon integrated AIR will continue as you state AIR is available from November 7th release, this is clear.  However, is proper Roon 'RAAT' also on the roadmap?

    Hello Gibson,

Both units, master and companion, will be upgraded with Core Infinity. So please send both, along with your remote, we will update its firmware at the same time.

    Hi Raymond,

There's a lot of us out there who haven't received the email yet. From experience there can easily be a week or two between the first and the last to get them. So nothing to worry about.

Are lots of folks getting their "email" yet? We have two Pro's in the family, 440 Pro and 250 Pro and have not been notified. With formal announcement on the 7th, perhaps will come next week!

Seems like Devialet have focused on adding features that Expert owners, including myself are not focused on. Lets face it what we want is ROON, TIDAL and QOBUZZ  not Spotify UPNP and Airplay, its 2017 not 1997. Cant say I bought 20K system for mp3 streaming from my iPhone etc. I am fully disappointed that this has been Devialet focus and has taken some time to implement. On top of that the Vauge publications of tech releases and dates is sub par..  Come on Devialet get back to on top.
